    Register on the official Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration portal, complete the Digital Nomad Visa application and upload documents.
  3. Pay Application Fee
    Pay the non-refundable $500 USD fee through the online portal.
  4. Processing & Approval
    Wait 7-14 days for review. You will receive an approval letter by email if successful.
  5. Travel & Registration
    Book your flights, arrange airport transfer if desired, and complete biometric registration within 7 days of arrival in Kigali.

Foreign-sourced income is not taxed for Digital Nomad Visa holders. Tax residency is generally established after 183 days in any calendar year, at which point worldwide income could become subject to Rwandan tax rules (progressive rates 0-35%).
