The goal of this new visa is to attract more digital and remote workers to the country in the post-pandemic era, in an effort to boost tourism revenue. Under the Digital Nomad Act, holders of the Philippines digital nomad visa will not be considered tax residents and will only be required to pay taxes at the source, without owing any local taxes in the Philippines.
